Friday night means fun and games for family at Christ United Methodist Church in Baltimore Highlands

Christ United Methodist Church will introduce the new month with a Friday Fun Night at 6:30 p.m. March 2. After a light meal, family games will commence at 2833 Florida Ave.

• Lauren Brumbaugh prepares food before the regular Tuesday night Bible study, starting at 6:30 p.m., which will lead us through the Lenten season.

The English Consul Volunteer Fire Department, 2827 Michigan Ave., will serve its monthly dinner at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 9.

On the menu is corned beef or ham, potatoes, cabbage, green beans, corn bread, coffee and soda.

Bingo, with cash prizes, follows at 7 p.m.

Cost is $20 for both or $8 for the meal only.

• On Saturday, March 10, English Consul Junior Fire Department will host Vendors Galore from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Participating vendors include: Origami Owl, Tastefully Simple, Jam Berry Nails, Avon, Pampered Chef, Slumber Parties, Country Gourmet Home and Perfect Posh.


Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

All proceeds benefit the group's activities.

Lansdowne United Methodist Church, 114 Lavern Ave., will host the annual roast pork supper from 3:30-7 p.m. Saturday, March 10.

Sauerkraut, green beans, applesauce, pickled beets, biscuits and dessert will also be served. Homemade candies and pastries will be sold separately, too. Adults pay $10; a $5 fee for children 6-12; free for those younger.

The Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands Senior Center, 424 Third Ave., celebrates St. Patrick's Day at noon Monday, March 19, with a lunch of roast beef, O'Brien potatoes, steamed cabbage and seven bean salad for a $6 charge. Don Ingram will provide music for dancing.

• A shamrock bingo is slated at noon Wednesday, March 21, after a meal of cabbage soup, corned beef, Swiss cheese on rye bread, pickled beets, carrot/raisin salad and chocolate cake.

American Legion Post 195, located at 2602 Virginia Ave., will sponsor a bull and oyster roast, 1-6 p.m. Sunday, April 15.

The Monaldi Brothers' five-piece band will play tunes for dancing.

In addition to pit beef/ham, there will be vegetables, oysters on half shell, oyster stew, sausage, mashed potatoes, green peppers, cheese, rolls, cake, coffee and sodas. Limited open bar. Tickets cost $35.
