Wrestling: Bel Air defeats Bo Manor in dual meet; Fallston edges Harford Tech

The Bel Air Bobcats wrestling team went on the road Wednesday and returned with a 52-21 dual meet victory over host Bo Manor.

After an opening match loss at 126 pounds, Jeff Taylor got the Bobcats on the winning track at 132, pinning Jacob Winward in 1:10. Cameron Watts followed at 138 with a 9-0 major decision over Roberto Torres, while at 145, Anthony Zappaunbulso decisioned Malik Hathaway, 10-7.

Alex Sharp got a pin for Bo Manor at 152, but, John Cross answered at 160 with a pin over Kelvin Mwangi in 1:31. At 170, William Holder-Moore also pinned, stopping Sean Statler at the 3:59 mark, while Tyler Alley continued the streak, pinning Brandon Britton in 1:41 at 182. Dominic Williams made it four straight at 195, decking Luke Ford in 1:26.

Cyler Crawford picked up a forfeit at 220 and Tyler Touhy closed out the heavyweights with an 8-3 decision over Kieran Dunn at 285. Brady Stafford picked up the final Bel Air win at 113, pinning Preston Kist in 1:37.

Fallston edges Cobras

In a dual meet marred by six forfeits, visiting Fallston slid past Harford Tech, 36-34.

The match started with one of four forfeits received by the Cobras at 182. Fallston, however, won the next four bouts for an early 18-6 lead.

Austin Rutkowski started the wins at 195, beating Amari Jones 4-0. The Cougars then won a forfeit at 220, setting up a dramatic heavyweight match. In that 285 bout, Fallston's Jesse Harmon pulled out a 2-1 triple overtime win over Will Hughes.

Joe Medicus followed at 106, pinning in just 28 seconds. On two forfeits at 113 and 120, the Cobras evened the score 18-all.

Tyler Granese put the Cobras ahead 21-18 with a 7-6 decision over Will Shipley at 126, but Cougar Zach Cullison pushed the Cougars back on top 24-21 at 132, pinning Jimmy Cosgrove in 1:44.

Tyler Butler put Tech back in the win column at 138, beating Garrett Coburn by 12-4 major decision. Tech retook the lead 25-24.

CJ Austin answered for Fallston at 145 by pinning Andrew Butler in 1:13 for a 30-25 Cougars lead, then the alternating wins continued at 152, where Tech's Tim Torre won 7-4 over Gordon Reilley to make it 30-28.

The teams then swapped forfeits, finalizing the two-point Fallston win.

Warriors also win

The Havre de Grace Warriors picked up a dual meet win on the road Wednesday, winning big at Elkton, 63-12.

The Warriors won 11 bouts, including eight by forfeit.

Of the three contested match winners, Ryley Armstrong and Jacob Nuce each posted pins, while Justin Wolbert won by decision.

Warriors collecting forfeit wins were Kylee Barber, Shawn Collins, Ryan Wilson, Tommy Butler, Daniel Peters, Chris Schulz, Amy Kling and Jesse Vancheri.

Panthers beat Hawks

North Harford suffered a loss Wednesday at Perryville, where the Panthers won big, 60-15.

The Hawks were limited to just three wins. Jake Demond earned a 13-10 decision at 160 over Lucas Gardner, while Dustin Beall and Trevor Smiith each earned pins.

Beall decked Logan Kelly in 54 seconds at 220 and Smith pinned Corban Porch in 1:17 at 106.
