Vandals cause widespread damage in Abingdon

Vandals went on a major spree in Abingdon on Sunday, damaging mailboxes and car mirrors around the neighborhood.

Monica Worrell, spokeswoman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office, said 21 homes were reported hit sometime that day.

The area affected was primarily bounded by Abingdon Road, Route 7 and Route 40.

Vandals struck homes in the 3000 block of Wolf Trail Drive, the 4000 block of Sharilyn Drive, the 1000 block of Cross Lane, the 4000 block of Timothy Drive and the 1000 block of My Lady's Drive.

The incidents were reported between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. that day, Worrell said.

Those responsible are believed to be juveniles, but have not been identified, she said.
