Golf: Bel Air's Hottman wins again on greens, but CMW gets team win

Less than a month ago, the Bel Air golf team won the District VII team championship, led by individual champion Matt Hottman. The UCBAC's Chesapeake Division teams battled in the annual division event Tuesday at Bulle Rock Golf Course and Hottman posted the best score again.

C. Milton Wright, however, won the team title after finishing as runner-up to Bel Air at the district event. The Mustangs scored 225 to edge Bel Air's 228. North Harford was third with 230 and North East fourth with 245. Rounding out the field were Patterson Mill at 247; Rising Sun at 248; Fallston at 252; and Harford Tech at 260.

Hottman won the individual title with 41, one stroke better than Bobcat teammate Nick Loiodice's round of 42. Fallston's Max Bradley was third with 42. Bel Air's Sam Foss, CMW's Stephen Rappe and Patterson Mill's Mike Ryan each shot 43 to round out the top five.

CMW's Quentin Cummings and North Harford's Nick Conway each shot 44, while five players shot 45 to close out the top 10. Those players were CMW's Ricky Scheeler, North East's Matt Klevisha, North Harford's John Heaps, North Harford's Nick Kress and Patterson Mill's Eric Langrehr.

In the girls individual play, North Harford's Morgan Wirtz was the top finisher with a 48, one stroke better than Indiana Jones of North East at 49. District champion Brittany Keman of Fallston was third with 51.
