Girls volleyball: Hawks, Panthers need 5 games for wins

North Harford needed five games to edge visiting Aberdeen 3-2 Thursday evening in a girls varsity volleyball match.

The Hawks won the first two games, 25-22 and 25-23, while Aberdeen battled back to win games three and four, 25-14 and 25-21. North Harford then won the decisive game five, 15-9.

The Hawks were led by Britney Fleming, five aces; Emily Cunningham, three aces and six kills; and Morgan Knox, three aces and four kills.

Panthers stump Rams

Host Edgewood dropped a five-set match to Perryville Thursday afternoon. The Rams lost by scores of 24-26, 25-15, 17-25, 25-17 and 16-18.

Krysten Turner had seven aces and four kills, while Alexis Goldston added nine aces and nine kills to lead the Rams.

Mycalah Bryant paced Perryville with 12 service points in game three and seven aces and seven kills throughout the match.

Bo blanks Tech

Harford Tech traveled to Bo Manor Thursday and lost 3-0. Bo Manor's winning scores were 25-17, 25-19 and 25-19.

Host Havre de Grace is still looking for a win after a 3-0 loss to visiting Elkton Thursday evening, while John Carroll cruised to a 3-0 IAAM win over visiting Mercy.
