Swimming: Patterson Mill, CMW, Fallston earn tri-meet victories

The Patterson Mill swim squad topped Bel Air, 110.5-77.5, and Aberdeen, 119-68, in a tri-meet Monday at Edgewood Middle School.

In its matchup with Aberdeen, Bel Air came out on top, 102-81.

Leading the way for the Huskies was Sydney Thompson, who raced to a pair of individual victories, winning the girls 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke.

Jordan Johnson won the boys 200-yard medley for the Huskies, while teammate Savannah Dawson won the girls 50-yard freestyle. Patterson Mill's Jeff Adams picked up a victory in the boys 100-yard butterfly and Ayana Phillips raced to a first-place finish in the girls 100-yard breaststroke.

Bel Air's Bryce McGuire won twice, taking first in the boys 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. James Cousler won the boys 200-yard freestyle for the Bobcats and teammate Taylor Chan beat the field in the girls 100-yard butterfly. Ben Barsam topped all competitors in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Aberdeen had a pair of swimmers with two victories: Lauren Drumm and Tyler Hutchins. Drumm won the girls 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley, while Hutchins won the 50-yard and 500-yard freestyle races. Aberdeen's Cora Summerfield picked up a victory in the girls 500-yard freestyle race.

Mustangs win

In Friday night's tri-meet featuring three talented Harford County swim teams, the C. Milton Wright Mustangs took a pair of victories, beating Havre de Grace, 147-41, and Patterson Mill, 156-32.

Havre de Grace beat Patterson Mill, 115-73.

The Mustangs had a trio of swimmers with two individual victories. Kyle Paxton won the boys 200-yard medley and 100-yard breaststroke races, while Darren Slotnick took top honors in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle races. Rachel Flint helped the winning cause with victories in the girls 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events.

Lauren O'Mara won the girls 200-yard medley for CMW, while teammate Danielle King won the girls 100-yard butterfly. Katie Gallagher raced to a first-place finish in the girls 100-yard freestyle, and fellow Mustang Colin Hildebeidel won the boys 500-yard freestyle. Ryan Pellegrino took first in the boys 100-yard backstroke for CMW, and Julia O'Mara earned the Mustangs a victory in the girls 100-yard breaststroke.

Havre de Grace's Renz Amato topped all competitors in the boys 50-yard freestyle, while the Warriors' Daniel Schoeberlein took first in the boys 100-yard butterfly.

Patterson Mill's two individual victories were notched by Sydney Thompson, who won the girls 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke.

Fallston takes two

The Fallston boys and girls swim teams combined for a pair of victories Thursday in a tri-meet at Magnolia Middle, beating Bel Air, 103-85, and Aberdeen, 112-72.

Leading the way for the Fallston girls was Madison Brown, who won both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard medley races.

The Fallston boys had a trio of swimmers with two individual victories in Ryan Hutchens, Grant Burgess and Sam Burgess. Hutchens took first in the 200-yard medley and 100-yard breaststroke, Grant Burgess won the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle, and Sam Burgess beat the field in the 100-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle.

Fallston's Leslie Hoyt won the girls 200-yard freestyle. The Fallston boys got a win in the 50-yard freestyle from Ryan Weigle, and teammate Austin Appel won the boys 100-yard butterfly.

Bel Air's Erika Armetta won the girls 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke events.

Aberdeen had a double individual winner in Cora Summerfield, who bested all opponents in the girls 100-yard backstroke and 50-yard freestyle, while fellow Eagle Allie Haag won the girls 100-yard freestyle. Aberdeen's final individual victory of the night came in the girls 100-yard breaststroke, which was won by Lauren Drumm.
