At Wednesday's tri-meet, the first Harford County swim competition since school started back after the holiday break, the C. Milton Wright boys and girls squads combined for two victories, topping Joppatowne, 160-28, and Harford Tech, 151-35, at Edgewood Middle School's pool.
Harford Tech won its matchup with Joppatowne by the thin margin of 90-88.
Leading the way for the Mustangs with two individual victory apiece were Darren Slotnick and Julia O'Mara. Slotnick raced to wins in the boys 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle, while O'Mara beat the field in the girls 200-yard medley and 100-yard breaststroke.
CMW's Kyle Paxton won the boys 100-yard breaststroke, while fellow Mustang Gabby Jordan took top honors in the girls 100-yard backstroke.
Jillian Carter won the girls 500-yard freestyle for CMW, Danielle King earned the Mustangs an individual victory in the girls 100-yard freestyle and Jordan Wells helped the winning cause with a first-place showing in the boys 100-yard freestyle.
Rachel Flint raced to first in the girls 100-yard butterfly, and CMW teammate Ryan Pellegrino notched a victory in the boys 100-yard butterfly.
Lauren O'Mara finished first in the girls 50-yard freestyle sprint and Ian Kearney filled out the CMW sweep in that event, winning the boys 50-yard freestyle.
Emily Jordan picked up the CMW girls first individual win of the night, taking first in the 200-yard freestyle.
CMW's boys team of Pellegrino, Paxton, Slotnick and Jordan Wells won the 200-yard medley relay, while Lauren O'Mara, Julia O'Mara, King and Flint took first in the girls 200-yard medley relay.
In the girls 200-yard freestyle relay, Erika Abshire, Erika Slotnick, Monica Youn and Flint took top honors, while the team of Wells, Kearney, Tyler Dellaratta and Bernie Chang won the boys 200-yard freestyle relay.
In the meet's final two events, Chang, Paxton, Darren Slotnick and Colin Hildebeidel won the boys 400-yard freestyle relay, while Abshire, King, Katie Gallagher and Lauren O'Mara won the girls 400-yard freestyle relay.
Harford Tech's Brandon Carestia was the only non-Mustang to pick up an individual win, and he did so twice in the boys 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke.
