Forfeit and lightning hamper lacrosse play

The Bel Air Women's Summer Lacrosse League tried to play two senior division games Thursday at Rockfield Park's Ewing Street Field, but a forfeit claimed one contest, while lightning halted the other with 10:23 left to play.

In the night's first scheduled game, Black Magic won by forfeit over Save the Ta-Tas (Pink), who failed to field enough players. Despite the forfeit, the teams mixed and played a non-league match, with Black Magic winning big, 14-6.

Brooke Prater paced the winners with five goals and two assists, while Kaylee Litke added three goals and one assist. Aloise Diedrich and Nichole Terry netted two goals apiece, while Carmen Chona finished with a goal and two assists. Emily Tyler also scored once in the win.

Liz DiNunno paced Pink with three goals, while single goals were scored by Noelle Landers, Kristen Arsenau and Katie Rodriguez.

Heather Dove made fives saves for Black Magic and Roxanne Diedrich (sub) made 10 saves for Pink.

Black Magic improved to 2-2 and Save the Ta-Tas fell to 1-3.

In the nightcap, Blue Moon dealt Little Miss Sunshine (Yellow) its first loss in a 6-4 win that was cut short by lightning.

Blue Moon jumped out to a 4-2 first half lead and then matched Miss Sunshine scoring in the second half for the win.

Terry and sub Litke scored two goals each to pace the winning team, while Kelly Duncan and Anna Pollitt each scored a single goal.

Julia Schroff tallied two goals to lead Miss Sunshine, while Kim Eraso and Kristen Arsenau netted a single goal each.

Alicia McCarty made 10 saves in the Blue Moon nets and Brittany MacKnew had five saves for Miss Sunshine.

Blue Moon stands at 2-2 with the win and Miss Sunshine slipped to 3-1.
