Northern Harford bank robbed Thursday morning

A northern Harford County bank was robbed Thursday morning, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office, which said two people were involved. One bank employee suffered what police say is a minor injury.

The National Bank of Rising Sun, in the 3500 block of Conowingo Road in Street, was robbed around 8:21 a.m., sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Jim Eyler said Thursday morning.

Two people are wanted in connection with the robbery. One robber is between 5 feet, 7 or 8 inches tall and the other around 5 feet, 11 inches tall, according to a sheriff's office news release issued Thursday afternoon. Both have thin builds and wore full facial masks and dark colored clothing.

Investigators did not disclose the sex of either robber.

According to the news release, one robber carried a knife and forced a teller to hand over money before both fled on foot. Both remained at large at 4 p.m. Thursday.

The teller suffered a minor injury in the robbery and was treated at the scene by medics from the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company, police said.

The bank is located at the busy intersection of Routes 1 and 136, where there are convenience stores and other businesses nearby.
