A Bel Air teen is facing assault charges after a fight at C. Milton Wright High School the second day of school.
Around 7:15 a.m. Sept. 1, a 17-year-old 12th grader at C. Milton Wright was standing to the back of the school with her 15-year-old friend from Churchville, according to the Harford County sheriff's deputy's report.
As the two talked, a 16-year-old Bel Air girl in 10th grade and another 16-year-old Bel Air girl in 11th grade walked toward them. The 10th grade girl started yelling at the 17-year-old and the 10th grade girl allegedly threw her cup of iced coffee on the older girl then started to punch and kick her, according to the report.
When the 17-year-old's friend tried to pull the two apart, the 11th grade girl allegedly started to hit her, according to the report.
During the scuffle, the 10th grade girl told the 17-year-old she was the reason the 10th grade girl and her boyfriend broke up, according to the report.
The 10th grade girl admitted that she hit and poured coffee on the 17-year-old and she is being charged with second-degree assault and disturbance of school operation, according to the report.
The other two girls involved did not wish to pursue charges against each other.
