An Edgewood man was charged last week in connection with the April robbery of the Edgewood Laundromat after police found evidence allegedly linking him to the crime.
Police say they believe Brian Christopher Johnson, 39, was one of three people involved in the April robbery.
Johnson, of the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive, was charged Thursday with armed robbery, second-degree assault and using a handgun in a felony or violent crime.
On April 18, a woman working night shift at the Edgewood Laundromat in the 1800 block of Pulaski Highway, opened the door for a woman who said she had clothes to wash, according to charging documents.
After she unlocked the door, two men rushed inside and one of the men allegedly put a gun to her head, according to charging documents.
A patron locked herself inside a bathroom during the incident, according to charging documents.
The armed man demanded money and threw the victim to the floor while the other man and the woman allegedly tried to access the ATM machine inside the business, according to charging documents.
After the robbery, police found several latent fingerprints inside the machine, an area members of the public do not have access to, according to charging documents
After running the prints through a national database, investigators matched Johnson's prints to those found on the ATM, according to charging documents.
The owner of the ATM provided police with the name of the people who service the machine. Johnson's was not among the listed names, according to charging documents.
Johnson was being held at the Harford County Detention Center Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bail.
