An Aberdeen man has been charged with raping a woman in a car in downtown Havre de Grace on Sunday night.
Havre de Grace Police Ofc. Jeff Gilpin said police were passing through the 700 block of Water Street at about 10:30 p.m. when they saw a suspicious car across from Price's Seafood.
One 22-year-old woman who was in the car signaled for help and ultimately told police she had been sexually assaulted and raped by a man in the vehicle. A second woman was in the car as well.
"Apparently officers interrupted what was going on," Gilpin said.
The suspect and victim were in a relationship, said Gilpin, who added the incident has no connection with another rape reported at Coakley's Pub on June 25, in which an unknown man allegedly raped a woman he met at the bar.
Rondrae Da Qan Lark, 23, of the 1300 block of Tralee Circle in Aberdeen, was arrested and charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sex offense and second-degree assault.
He was being held Tuesday at the Harford County Detention Center on $175,000 bail.
