Over the last three months, the Bush River Community Council has discussed, informed and taken action on many issues concerning the Bush River area.
We have worked with the Harford County Council and the Harford County Executive's office to discuss the concerns of Perryman residents over the proposed bridge into Perryman, concerns over trash and debris at our parks and in the Bush River, especially railroad ties floating in the river. The council is working with Harford County Parks and Recreation to take an active role in keeping our parks clean. One hot button issue among the group has been the run-down businesses and the adult bookstores along the Chesapeake Science and Security Corridor.
Due to the increased number of attendees and the needs of the council, we have decided to move locations. The Anita C. Leight Estuary Center at 700 Otter Point Road in Abingdon, has been kind enough to offer its meeting room. This month's meeting, which was held Monday, was especially important to the members of our community as we will have Karen Holt, BRAC Manager for APG. She presented BRAC's current projects and what we can expect in the future.
We can be found online at http://www.facebook.com/BushRiver and we encourage all local business owners to attend as well. Any business in attendance will be announced as we prefer to support our local businesses.
