Regarding his letter published Aug. 24 in the Open Forum, Del. Glen Glass sure seems to enjoy the riding the Tax Train!
Perhaps Del. Glass needs to be reminded that what he points out and appreciates so much in Maryland: a clean Chesapeake Bay where he can fish and crab, the bald eagle in Tydings Park, etc, are all due in part to our shared contribution to the common good, or what he pejoratively calls the "out of control Tax Train" in Annapolis. Is he so out of touch with simple economics that he does not realize that our shared taxes support Tydings Park, have saved the bald eagle from extinction, support Ripken Stadium, and last but not least, pays for the Army in which he once served!
I think Del. Glass needs a lesson from someone in Annapolis about how our public parks, stadiums and national defense are maintained and financed, or he may find a totally different landscape out of his Tax Train window. One that I am sure he would not enjoy nearly as much as the one he does today.
