An Aberdeen couple was assaulted by two gunmen Wednesday night, according to city police.
A man and his wife were at home in the first block of Smith Avenue in East Aberdeen at about 11:45 p.m., Lt. Fred Budnick said.
Two men knocked on the door, and when the couple answered, the men produced a gun and demanded drugs, he said.
A fight or some kind of altercation ensued, and the man was struck in the face with the gun, Budnick said. He suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene.
"There is no indication right now they knew the suspects," Budnick said, although since drugs were involved, "there is probably some [suspicion] that they made contact in the past."
