Bel Air, Wright victorious in early season golf matches

Despite some early showers Thursday afternoon, the skies cleared for a beautiful afternoon of high school golf at Mountain Branch Golf Course in Joppa.

Fallston hosted Bel Air and Elkton in the tri-match, won by Bel Air. The Bobcats shot 213, beating Fallston's 237 and Elkton's 247.

Bel Air was led by Nick Loiodice's match best score of 38, while Matt Hottman shot 42 and Bill Dearth added a 43. Tyler Newton, 44, Nick Rynes, 46 and Sam Foss, 47, rounded out the winning team.

Fallston was led by Max Bradley's 39 and JD Apple's 43. Brittany Kiemen added a 46, while Luke Crofton shot 54. Nick CIamarri shot 55 and Kyle Bordenski finished with a 60.

Elkton was led by Wes Price, 40, and Nate Tulowitsky 46.

Wright wins tri-match

C. Milton Wright picked up a tri-match win Thursday at Geneva Farm Golf Club, besting Joppatowne and North Harford.

The Mustangs, led by Shane Harper's match-low round of 36, won with a score of 198. North Harford was second with 215 and Joppatowne third at 322.

CMW also got a 39 from Josh Cobo and 40 each from Stephen Rappe and Ricky Scheeler. Quentin Cummings closed out the Mustangs scoring with a respectable 43.

John Heaps shot 39 to pace North Harford, while Tyler Stinar shot 42, Alex O'Shaughnessey shot 43 and Nick Kress shot 44. Nick Conway added a 47 for the Hawks.

Joppatowne's leading score was Corey Booker's 52. Other scores were Zack Dietz, 64; Chris Peris, 66; Katelynn Howard, 70; and Cody Piectowski, 70.

Rising Sun tops Harford Tech

In a tri-match turned dual-match at Ruggles Golf Course in Aberdeen Thursday, Rising Sun edged host Harford Tech 238-243.

Havre de Grace was incomplete with its three golfers.

Top scorers for Tech were Noah Davis, 37, and Brandon Young, 45. Rising Sun's best scores were shot by Chris Stenta and Gary Bauer, both shooting 46.
