A 2-year-old boy was flown to Baltimore for medical attention after falling 10 feet from a balcony at the Aberdeen Intown Motel Monday evening.
Shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, the 2-year-old made his way from the room where his family was staying out to the balcony, according to Lt. Fred Budnick, spokesman for the Aberdeen Police Department.
Budnick said the child somehow managed to climb the balcony rail and fall 10 feet to the ground outside the motel in the 400 block of South Philadelphia Boulevard.
The boy was taken by ambulance to Joppa, where he was met by a medevac helicopter and flown the rest of the way to a Baltimore hospital. Budnick said the child was taken as a precaution and was conscious and alert after the fall.
The boy was likely taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview pediatric center, Budnick said.
The fall is believed to be accidental and police do not suspect foul play was involved, he added.
