Michael Anthony Mack, the 44-year-old who police say shot two men he believed had robbed him earlier in the day on Oct. 4 in the Perrywood Garden Apartments neighborhood near Aberdeen, was apprehended in Charlotte, N.C., Friday morning, according to police.
Mack was apprehended by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department working in conjunction with the Harford County Sheriff's Office Apprehension Unit, according to Monica Worrell, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office. His extradition to Harford County is pending.
Mack was sought in connection with the double shooting from which both victims are expected to survive, according to police.
At about 5 p.m. on Oct. 4, Harford County sheriff's deputies responded to the 200 block of Mayberry Drive in Perrywood Garden Apartments for a report of a shooting.
Deputies found the first victim, Tyrell Polley, 21, of the 200 block of Perrywood Court in Aberdeen. He was transported by an Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department ambulance to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Witnesses told deputies there was a second victim, who had been transported by a personal vehicle to a local hospital.
Investigators later located the second victim, David Malcom Jamal Dudley, 23, of the 200 block of Perrywood Court, at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace. Dudley was later transported to shock trauma.
Sheriff's Office detectives said they had determined that Mack, who had been robbed earlier in the day, believed Dudley and Polley were responsible for the crime.
