CROP is an acronym for "Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty." Twenty-five percent of the money raised will go to The Sharing Table, a soup kitchen in Edgewood that provides a hot meal and bagged groceries on Saturdays. The remaining 75five percent will go to support the hunger and poverty-fighting initiatives of Church World Service, or an affiliate international poverty-fighting agency of the donor's choosing. Last year, 20 organizations participated and raised more than $18,000. This year's goal is $20,000.

Prizes will be awarded to the top first, second and third male and female runners overall. Special recognition will go to the top two age group male/female finishers in seven age categories. Participants who raise a minimum of $25 in donations will receive a Harford CROP Walk T-shirt.
