Brian Hamilton Childress, who was charged last month with kidnapping, has been indicted by a grand jury and is still being held without bail.
Childress, 50, who has no fixed address, allegedly tried to lure a 5-year-old boy away Carsins Run Fields, in the 500 block of Carsins Run Road in Aldino, Sept. 17. His mother later identified Childress from a photo lineup as "the man who attempted to lure my son away into a cornfield," according to charging documents.
An employee at Carsins Run Deli also told detectives a man matching Childress' description was lingering outside the store for several hours on Sept. 16 before heading toward Carsins Run Road. According to charging documents, she, too, identified Childress from a photo.
A man who lives on Carsins Run Road also filed a report later that night on Sept. 16, saying a man he did not recognize from the area and matching Childress' description was walking in the area. The man identified Childress from a photo as the man he had seen.
District Court Judge Mimi Cooper still denied Childress bail during his bail review hearing Friday.
