SUV burns in Aberdeen

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a vehicle fire Tuesday morning in Aberdeen.

At approximately 11:35 a.m., six firefighters from Aberdeen Fire Department responded to the 100 block of North Rogers Street for a vehicle fire, according to a news release. A bystander discovered the fire, which started in the interior passenger compartment, according to the release.

It took firefighters five minutes to control the fire in the 2004 Acura MDX sport utility vehicle, owned by Stanley J. Lahens. The fire did an estimated $10,000 damage to the car.

Aberdeen police and the state fire marshal are investigating, according to the release. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the fire marshal's office, 410-836-4844.
