Aberdeen woman assaulted with gun

A 28-year-old Aberdeen woman was assaulted, allegedly by an acquaintance, with a handgun last Wednesday, Aberdeen police said.

The woman told police she pulled into the parking lot of Golden Corral restaurant, in the 700 block of South Philadelphia Boulevard, at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

She noticed that another woman, whom she knew only as Lucy, appeared to be having some kind of trouble with her car.

"For some reason, she [the suspect] got into [the victim's] car, pulled her hair and struck her in the back of the head with a handgun," Lt. Fred Budnick said Tuesday.

"It's unclear what the extent of their relationship is," he said.

The victim was ultimately taken to Harford Memorial Hospital for some head injuries and was treated and released, he said.

No charges had been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.
