Aberdeen man held on no bond after alleged violation of probation

An 23-year-old Aberdeen man is being held without bail in Harford County in connection with an alleged violation of probation from a handgun possession case. Prior to his arrest, he was already out on bond after being indicted recently on second degree rape charges.

Rondrae Da Quan Lark, of the 1300 block of Tralee Circle, appeared before Harford County District Court Judge Mimi Cooper in Bel Air during bail reviews in Bel Air Friday afternoon for a disorderly conduct charge and an alleged violation of probation.

Cooper agreed to release Lark on his own recognizance on the disorderly conduct charge but then held him on no bond on the violation of probation charge, which relates back to a case in which he received probation before judgment from District Court Judge Susan Hazlett. Lark was encouraged by Cooper to get in touch with Hazlett in 30 days or less to address the charge.

During the proceedings Friday, Cooper also mentioned a Circuit Court case in which Lark has been indicted on several charges, including two counts of second degree rape, one count of a third degree sexual offense and one count second degree assault, all dating back to a July 11 incident.

In the Circuit Court case, Lark previously posted a $175,000 bond. According to the online court records, his arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 17.

Online court records also show a case in which Lark received probation before judgment after he was charged with unlawful transfer of a registered firearm, having a handgun on his person and having a handgun in a vehicle in August 2010.

Public Defender Marcus Jenkins asked Cooper to reduce the no bond to a "reasonable bail," while Lark himself asked to be released on his own recognizance on both charges. Jenkins also mentioned that Lark lives at home with his parents and is attending the Comprehensive Health Academy to pursue a career in the medical profession.

Lark is currently unemployed, Jenkins added, but had previously worked as a behavioral health technician.

Assistant State's Attorney Christopher Tabone did not make a recommendation to the judge.

Lark is being held at the Harford County Detention Center in Bel Air.
