Teen flown out after hitting his head

Harford and York County emergency personnel rushed to the Funkhouser Quarry in Peach Bottom, Pa., Monday after a youth hit his head on rocks jumping into the water.

Around 4:30 p.m., six kids under the age of 18 along with 19-year-old Samuel Rogers of Gretna, Pa., were swimming and jumping off rocks into the water at the quarry on Atom Road in Peach Bottom, despite no trespassing signs, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

One of the juveniles hit his head on the rocks, and emergency personnel arrived after from both York and Harford counties to rescue and assist the young man, who was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment.

Rogers and the six juveniles were cited for trespassing.
