Bel Air teen taken to Baltimore hospital after hitting truck with his bike

A Bel Air boy was taken to a Baltimore hospital for treatment Friday after he was involved in an accident with a truck.

The boy is listed as the at-fault driver.

Around 3 p.m., David Quinn, 16, of the 3000 block of Lochary Road in Bel Air, was riding his bike not far from home on Lochary Road toward Forge Hill Road, according to the preliminary accident report from the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

As David approached a stop sign, he continued to drive, entered the intersection and hit a 2008 Ford truck driven by Jackie Dean Bentley, 35, of the 4300 block of Cooper Road in Whiteford, according to the report.

The truck was driving at a steady speed at the time of the accident.

The truck received minor damage, while the bicycle was destroyed.

The boy was injured, but not incapacitated, in the crash and taken by Bel Air ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore for treatment.
