The Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire in a wood and stone building in Street, which appears to have been deliberately set.
The fire, in the 3500 block of Mill Green Road, was discovered by a passerby at approximately 9:17 a.m. Monday, according to a notice of investigation from the State Fire Marshal's Office.
The preliminary cause is ruled to be incendiary and that a person, or persons, "introduced some type of an open flame to the structure," according to the NOI.
The fire caused $100 worth of damage to contents and $1,000 damage to the structure and took two Darlington firefighters 30 minutes to control, according to the NOI.
