Mike Thomas gets call to pitch in Ogden

Fallston resident and 2007 Fallston High School graduate Mike Thomas has been called up in theLos Angeles Dodgers farm system.

Thomas is now a member of the Ogden Raptors and made his first start Wednesday night against the visiting Orem Owlz in a Rookie Pioneer League contest.

Thomas worked three innings, giving up two first inning earned runs. Thomas allowed three hits and a walk and also struck out four. Thomas left the game with the score tied 2-2 and Ogden went on to win 6-5.

Thomas was drafted, signed and reported to the Arizona League Dodgers in June, where he pitched in 12 games, eight in relief and the final four as a starter. Thomas posted a 2-1 record with both wins coming in relief and the loss in the third of his four starts.

Thomas pitched 21 and two-third innings, allowing 21 hits and eight runs (six earned). Thomas gave up two home runs and walked four, but also struck out 34. Thomas posted an ERA of 2.49.
