Level fire company holds annual open house Oct. 2

The Level Volunteer Fire Company will hold its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday, Oct. 2, from noon to 3 p.m.

The free event is open to all.

Members of the Level fire company will be on hand to give station tours, demonstrate auto extrication techniques and show off their fire and EMS apparatus.

"Every year the open house attracts hundreds of citizens," Jason Gallion, the fire company's president, said. "This is an excellent opportunity for them to learn valuable life saving information and to meet the volunteers who care about their safety."

Children will have the chance to take a fire engine ride, squirt water from a fire hose and try on fire fighting gear. There will be displays from the Harford County Hazmat Team, Emergency Operations Center, local law enforcement, health care facilities, fire and EMS services and more.

The first 200 adults to arrive will receive a free re-usable shopping bag, and all children will receive a free fire prevention goody bag and fire helmet.

Light refreshments will be provided by the Level Ladies Auxiliary.

For additional information regarding the open house contact Assistant Chief Rhonda Polk, lifesaver911@comcast.net.

Level Volunteer Fire Company's fire station is at 3633 Level Village Road, near the intersection of Routes 155 and 161.
