On cleaning up the Bay

Editor:

I'm Clayton Solomon of Troop 801 and would like to express my views on the cleanliness of the Chesapeake Bay. If you go down to the Inner Harbor you will see that the water has a green tint to it.

I'm thinking since we have to pay a great deal in taxes: why isn't a decent portion going toward the funding for the bay?

At this very moment, much of the bay's plant and animal life is deteriorating because of the pollution from run off from the people of Maryland. This causes excessive amounts of nitrogen to form in the bay's water and because of this it will eventually cause the bay to have zones where the waters can't sustain life. I think news companies should increase the amount of publicity in this matter.
