Editor:

Sometimes you open the newspaper and all you see is sad news. I would like to recognize a local Fallston business for some happy news.

Acappella Restaurant on Pleasantville Road in Fallston held a fundraiser for John Hopkins Pediatric Cancer. The fundraiser was held on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at the restaurant. It was staffed with guest bartenders and the employees of Acappella giving of their time for the cause.

$6,280 was raised to support John Hopkins Pediatric Center. Customers were participating in the auction of sports memorabilia and raffles as well as Acappella giving 20 percent of their bar sales to the cause.

I personally think the Acappella family should be commended for their support of the community and their generosity. This is just one of the similar events they have done since they opened their establishment. Last year this same event was held for the American Cancer Society. They are also very supportive of the local high school teams. It warms your heart when you see a local restaurant give back to the community. Special thanks to the Bregasi and Rapo families.
