In response to the Etc. column in the Wednesday Aegis, concerning a teacher raise: These men and women are one of our most valuable resources for our children. Our teachers are being treated disrespectfully by some of our children and their parents at times. If it were not for our teachers helping to guide and teach our children on a daily basis, many children in today's world would be totally lost.
I have very high respect for all of our educators and the hours that they put in. Many of them use their own money for students projects. Yes, the economy is down and money is tight, but money is being spent on other projects in our communities, which could be put on hold.
Our teachers are deserving of a raise for all they do for our children's future.
