Proper accounting avoids mistrust, irregularities

I am proud of the services performed by our volunteer fire and rescue teams in Harford County. These volunteers do an amazing job for our citizens.

Their good works, however do not give them the right to use government funds supplied by our tax payers without some kind of accounting. Every organization should be held accountable for the funds that are spent.

Proper accounting avoids mistrust and potential irregularities.
