Girls volleyball: Fallston, Patterson Mill power their way to wins

The Fallston and Patterson Mill girls volleyball squads both posted shutouts Monday. Fallston beat Bel Air while Patterson Mill downed Joppatowne.

The Fallston Cougars topped host-team Bel Air in three straight games by scores of 27-25, 25-14 and 25-13.

Leading the way for Fallston was Rachael Holehouse, who posted 17 kills. Emily Letke and McKenzie Black put up four kills each in the victory, while Abby Claborn paced the Cougars with a 22-assist effort. Claborn also came through with 15 service points.

Bel Air's Jackie Deluise notched seven kills and four blocks, while Celeste Roland had six kills and four digs in the loss. Amanda Rodriguez had four kills and a team-high 12 assists for Bel Air, while Alex Williams registered four kills, seven aces and seven digs. Tia Williams had three kills, while fellow Bobcat Jen Schofield had four assists.

Huskies blank Mariners

Patterson Mill topped Joppatowne in three straight, 25-17, 28-26 and 25-13.

Qalea Ismail had a team-high 11 kills in the victory, while also posting five perfect passes. Angela Zalesak served up 16 aces and 17 assists, both of which were team-best totals, while Morgan Golec notched 10 perfect passes and four aces.
