The C. MIlton Wright girls volleyball team is a win away from a perfect league season after a 3-1 win over visiting Bo Manor Tuesday night. The Mustangs won by scores of 25-22. 25-22, 25-27 and 25-12. The Mustangs are 13-0 in the UCBAC Susquehanna Division and 13-1 overall.
Brianna Karukas led the way with eight aces, five digs and three kills. Megan Badovinac added seven kills, while Tori Smith had five aces, five digs, three assists and three kills. Jenna Buettner chipped in with 10 digs and three aces.
Cougars sweep Huskies
The Fallston Cougars also stayed perfect in Chesapeake play (11-0, 12-2) ), sweeping Patterson Mill 3-0. The scores were 25-13, 25-15 and 25-18.
Leading the attack, Rachael Holehouse had seven kills and McKenzie Black had six kills. Abby Claborn displayed stellar serving with 17 points scored on her serve, including three aces. Holehouse added 14 points scored on her serve with two aces and Claborn also added 17 assists.
Rams blank Hawks
Also Tuesday, Edgewood beat North Harford, 3-0, in Susquehanna action. The scores were 25-20, 25-19 and 25-22.
Alexis Goldston paced the Rams with six aces and four kills, while Alicia Grant and Willie Austin each had four aces.
Bobcats drop Warriors
Bel Air defeated Havre de Grace in four games Tuesday in Chesapeake play. The scores were 25-10, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-14.
Alex Williams had 11 kills and three aces to lead Bel Air, while Celeste Roland added five kills and two aces. Jackie Deluise had four kills and six aces and Tia Williams had four kills and four aces. Amanda Rodriguez finished with three kills, 19 assists and six aces and Madi Bever added three kills and three aces.
The Bobcats got outstanding back row defense by Joanna Koutsouradis and Samantha Liberto, according to head coach Tim Markland.
Tech loses
In Susquehanna play, Harford Tech lost at Perryville 3-0 on the Panthers senior night. The Panthers winning scores were 25-14, 26-24 and 25-4.
