The Fallston Cougars girls volleyball team was defeated for just the second time this season Thursday night with a 3-0 loss at Padua Academy in Delaware. The Cougars were defeated by scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-17.
Leading the Cougars was Rachael Holehouse with 12 kills and six blocks, while Abby Claborn had 12 assists and Anna Holehouse had 16 digs.
Bobcats sweep Elks
Bel Air traveled to Elkton and won, 3-0, in an UCBAC Chesapeake (upper) Division match. The scores were 25-20, 25-19 and 25-18.
Jackie Deluise highlighted the win with nine kills and two blocks, while Tia Williams had six kills, one ace and one block. Celeste Roland added five kills and two aces and Taylor Cole also had five kills. Also for the Bobcats, Madi Bever had four kills and one ace, Jen Schofield dished out 13 assists and Amanda Rodriguez had eight assists. Outstanding defense came from Kendall Daley, Rien Hachmann and Samantha Liberto, according to Bobcats head coach Tim Markland.
Cobras blank Mariners
Host Harford Tech blanked Joppatowne, 3-0, Thursday in Susquehanna (lower division) play. The scores were 25-18, 25-23 and 25-18.
Notable players for Tech were Casey Pilar with a 10-point serving streak in game one and four aces; Juliet Lloyd with one block and one kill; and Brittney Chavis with three solo blocks and two kills.
Hawks fall to Bo Manor
North Harford lost a five-set match to visiting Bo Manor Thursday in Susquehanna action. The scores were 25-23, 15-25, 16-25, 25-14 and 15-10. Leading the Hawks, Morgan Knox had three aces and 13 kills, while Emily Cunningham had four aces and seven kills. Kristen Eyler added six aces, two kills and six assists.
Tigers beat Huskies
Patterson Mill lost to visiting Rising Sun, 3-1, Thursday in Chesapeake action. The scores were 25-15, 25-14, 19-25 and 25-11. Angela Zalesak had 12 assists and two aces in the loss, while Morgan Golec had five kills, one block and 10 perfect passes. Qalea Ismail added five kills, four blocks and four digs.
Other scores
In Susquehanna play Thursday, C. Milton Wright stayed perfect in the league with a 3-1 win at Perryville. The scores were 25-11, 25-17, 22-25 and 25-8. In another Susquehanna match, Edgewood beat Aberdeen 3-1, while in a Chesapeake match, Havre de Grace fell 3-1 to visiting North East.
