Fallston beats Bel Air; CMW and Patterson Mill win in important UCBAC girls volleyball matches

Fallston beat visiting Bel Air, 3-0, in a Friday night UCBAC Chesapeake Division girls volleyball match. The Cougars won by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-10.

Anna Holehouse dug up 13 balls for Fallston, while her older sister, Rachael, contributed 15 digs. Phoenix Offutt had eight blocks. Leading the offensive attack was Rachael Holehouse with 15 kills and Abby Claborn with six. Emily Letke added 13 assists and Claborn had 20.

Leading the Bobcats were: Tia Williams, six kills, one block; Celeste Roland, four kills, 13 digs, 11 perfect passes; Alex Williams, four kills, two aces, six digs; Jackie Deluise, four kills, two aces; and Amanda Rodriguez, 16 assists.

PATTERSON MILL beats Elkton

Patterson Mill topped host Elkton, 3-1, in Chesapeake Division action Friday. Scores were 25-13, 25-21, 20-25 and 25-20.

Patterson Mill's Qalea Ismail led the winners with 13 kills, eight digs, six blocks and 14 perfect passes. Samantha Herman added 11 kills, 10 digs and 21 perfect passes. Morgan Golec finished with 10 kills and 18 perfect passes and Angela Zalesak had 40 assists.

In a Monday make-up match, Patterson Mill lost at North East in three games. The Indians' winning scores were 25-13, 25-11 and 25-16.

Ismail had nine kills, three blocks, six digs and seven perfect passes, while Herman had four kills, 11 digs and 11 perfect passes. Dana Gileza added 11 digs and two aces.

C. MILTON WRIGHT beats PERRYVILLE

The C. Milton Wright girls volleyball team picked up a key UCBAC Susquehanna Division win Thursday evening, beating visiting Perryville, 3-2. The scores were 25-14, 25-16, 14-25, 15-25 and 15-8. Senior middle hitter Megan Badovinac led the Mustangs with four kills, four blocks, four digs and three aces. Anna Roark, with two kills, two digs and two aces, Jessica Lucas, with six kills, five digs and two aces, and Tori Smith, with seven kills, four digs, one block and four aces, also contributed to the victory.

Bobcats sweep Elks

Host Bel Air beat Elkton in three Chesapeake games Thursday by the scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-19.

Bel Air was led by Amanda Rodriguez, who had five aces, three kills, 17 assists and five digs. Celeste Roland added nine kills and Tia Williams had seven kills and two blocks. Alex Williams added seven kills and Jackie Deluise had four kills and one ace.

Kendall Daley, with two kills, one ace and three digs, Kaila Gonzalez, with one kill and one assist, and Jen Schofield, with four assists, also contributed to the win.

Outstanding back row defense provided by Joanna Koutsouradis, Sam Liberto and Rien Hachmann, according to Bel Air Coach Tim Markland.

Hawks drop Eagles

North Harford won, 3-0, Thursday at Bo Manor in Susquehanna play. Scores were 25-23, 25-21 and 25-15. Emily Cunningham, three aces, six kills, and Morgan Knox, three aces, six kills, led the Hawks victory.

Other scores

Havre de Grace fell, 3-0, to host North East in Chesapeake play by scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-10.

Host Joppatowne blanked Harford Tech, 3-0, in Susquehanna action, by scores of 25-12, 25-22 and 25-23.
