Bel Air girls need five games to begin season with a volleyball win

Bel Air's girls volleyball team opened the 2011 season Friday and picked up a win, defeating host Perry Hall in five games. The scores were 25-22, 21-25, 25-14, 24-26 and 15-13.

Celeste Roland paced the Bobcats with six kills, four aces and seven digs, while Amanda Rodriguez added three kills, seven aces and 19 assists.

Kendall Daley had five kills and one ace and Taylor Cole had four kills. Also, Jen Schofield had seven assists and two aces; Tia Williams had 10 kills and one block and Jackie Deluise had seven kills, five aces and one block.

Patriots edge Huskies

John Carroll also needed five games to get past host Patterson Mill on Friday. The Patriots won by scores of 25-17, 25-14, 15-25, 23-25 and 15-11.
