Girls soccer: Edgewood, Bel Air and Harford Tech triumph

Three girls soccer teams – Edgewood, Bel Air and Harford Tech – recorded shutout victories Wednesday afternoon.

The Edgewood Rams defeated the visiting Havre de Grace Warriors, 6-0.

Natalee Olah, T'mya Lawrence, Morgan Kaseman and Caitlin Rankin each contributed one goal and one assist.

Ladae Boykin and Megan Poniatowski also scored goals.

Bobcats blank Tigers

The Bel Air girls, playing on their home field Wednesday evening, exploded for three second-half goals en route to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Rising Sun Tigers.

The score at halftime was 1-0.

Leading the way for the winning side was Teresa Berg, who had one goal and two assists.

Sarah McKinney, Brooke Lorber and Nicole Lentz each scored for the Bobcats.

Cobras beat lightning, Joppatowne

In a game that was ended prematurely because of lightning, the Harford Tech Cobras dominated a home-field matchup with the Joppatowne Mariners, 6-0.

With just under seven minutes to play, the game was ruled complete when lightning was sighted.

The Cobras scored twice in the opening half, then had a four-goal outburst in the second half.

Dana Waskiewicz scored once and had one assist in the victory, while Becca Williams, Katie Doleshal, Jamie Hoban, Cierra Singleton and Kersten O'Brien had one goal each for the Cobras.

Harford Tech's Sarah North, Gabrielle Spalt and Jamie Surock handed out one assist apiece.
