The Edgewood High girls basketball team broke into the win column for the first time this season Wednesday night, winning at Kenwood, 52-28.
The Rams (1-4) used a 17-point second quarter to pull away and then used a 17-point fourth quarter to seal their first win. Kenwood scored nine in the second and three in the fourth.
Sophomore Shania Stamper led all scorers with 19 points, and teammate Jada Hatcher, also a sophomore, had 12 points. Junior Alexis Goldston added eight points in the win.
Cougars suffer first loss
Fallston (4-1) suffered its first loss Wednesday evening, losing 48-30 to visiting Catonsville.
Alyssa March was the lone Cougar to score in double figures, tossing in 13 points. Rachael Holehouse, who recently eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau, was limited to five points.
The Cougars, who were 13-for-25 from the charity stripe, trailed 30-14 at the half.
Bobcats lose on road
Bel Air also lost Wednesday night, falling at Perry Hall, 57-45. The Bobcats (1-4), who haven't won since the opening night of the season, trailed 29-24 at the half.
Sophomore Jamie Bittner led the Bobcats with 14 points, while junior Connor Hanley had nine rebounds.
Mustangs beat Cobras
In an all-Harford County contest Tuesday night, host C. Milton Wright dealt Harford Tech its first loss. The Mustangs won 75-55.
Allie Appleby paced the Mustangs (3-1) with 15 points. Colleen Houck added 12 points and six rebounds.
Tech fell to 2-1 with the loss.
