The Joppatowne Mariners girls basketball team got one final tuneup Tuesday night before Thursday's showdown with Aberdeen. The Mariners traveled to North Harford and came away with a 72-59 UCBAC Chesapeake Division win.

The Mariners and Hawks (4-5, 12-7) were locked up in a tight contest through three quarters (48-46 Joppatowne), but the Mariners outscored the Hawks 24-13 in the final quarter to pull away for the win.


Lakiah Huff pumped in 26 points to lead the Mariners, while also grabbing five rebounds and dealing out five assists. Te'jha Patton-Hill added 16 points and four assists, while Shakara Head finished with 14 points.

North Harford's Sarah Heaps led all scorers with 29 points and Madison Ferrara added 11 points.

Mustangs beat Indians

C. Milton Wright (11-0, 15-4) stayed unbeaten and atop the Susquehanna Division Tuesday night, easily defeating visiting North East, 71-20. The Mustangs were ahead at the half, 40-18.

Allie Appleby showed the way with 16 points, while Abby Smucker netted 12. Jess Canami added five rebounds.

Cougars beat Bobcats

Fallston picked up another Chesapeake victory Tuesday night, defeating visiting Bel Air, 61-53. The Cougars (7-2, 12-6) outscored the Bobcats (1-9, 2-17) 40-25 in the second half after trailing 28-21 at the half.

Rachael Holehouse scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Cougars, who also got 19 points from Alyssa March. Devin Brady and Emily Nosek added nine points each.

Connor Hanley highlighted Bel Air's efforts with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Jasmine Mutunga scored 13 and Caela Tindilla had nine.

Rams beat Panthers

Edgewood improved its record in Susquehanna play after a 54-27 win over visiting Perryville. Edgewood (7-4, 10-9) led 26-13 at the half.

Shania Stamper scored 24 points to lead the Rams and Jakia Robinson added 23 points. Robinson, a freshman, scored 15 of her 23 points in the second quarter on five consecutive three-point shots.

Amber Wood led the Panthers with 12 points.

Elks beat Cobras


Harford Tech (0-9, 3-11) continued winless in Chesapeake play Tuesday, losing to visiting Elkton, 63-53. The Cobras trailed at the half, 30-27.

Britany Chavis had the 17-point, 14-rebound double-double to pace the Cobras, while Emily Edmunds added 13 points and four assists. Gabby Spalt had eight points and Crystal McCullum snagged 15 rebounds.

Huskies beat Tigers

Patterson Mill stayed within a game of C. Milton Wright by defeating visiting Rising Sun, 56-26, in Susquehanna action Tuesday night.

Morgan Golec paced the Huskies (10-1, 13-5) with 21 points. Qalea Ismail added 14 points and Carlee Lund scored eight.

Warriors beat Eagles

Havre de Grace (3-8, 3-14) completed a season sweep of Bo Manor Tuesday night, beating the visiting Eagles, 39-25, in Susquehanna action. The Warriors, who led 22-8 at the half, also beat Bo Manor in January.

Addie Richardson scored 16 points to lead the Warriors and Taylor Smith finished with 12 points.
