Field hockey: Joppatowne tops Havre de Grace

The Joppatowne Mariners held the visiting Havre de Grace field hockey squad scoreless on Wednesday afternoon in a 4-0 victory.

Leading the Mariners offensive effort was Julie Sands, who accounted for half her team's goal output with a pair of tallies. Ashley Martinez and Deja Turner each scored once in the victory.

Havre de Grace goalkeeper Taylor Smith had a season-best performance, racking up 19 saves in the Warriors defeat. "She played an outstanding game," Mariner head coach Stella Kalambihis said.

Tech pummeled

The Harford Tech Cobras were knocked off 8-1 at home on Wednesday by the Rising Sun Tigers.

Cat Roxas put away her team's only goal, with an assist from Lyndsey Endlich.
