Crash in Abingdon kills motorcyclist close to home

A crash on Creswell Road and Route 7 near Riverside in Harford County Saturday night killed an Abingdon motorcyclist, Maryland State Police said.

Louis Goodman, 47, of the 2000 block of Bynum Overlook Drive in Abingdon, was killed just two miles from his home after the 2007 Harley Davidson he was riding collided with a 2008 Chrysler Sebring driven by Angela Gonzalez, 29, of the 3000 block of Cotter Road in Manchester, Carroll County, state police said in a news release.

Gonzalez was not injured in the accident.

The crash occurred around 8:38 p.m.

The preliminary investigation showed the Chrysler was traveling south on Creswell Road when the motorcycle was making a left turn from the opposite lane of Creswell Road onto Route 7, state police said.

Investigators are in the process of determining who had the right of way, according to the news release.

Mr. Goodman was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air where he was pronounced dead.

Route 7 was closed for about three hours while troopers and other specialists investigated the collision.

Mr. Goodman's death was the 19th on Harford County highways this year.
