One person was killed and three others were taken to Baltimore area hospitals following an accident in front of the Fountain Green Swim Club in Bel Air Thursday morning.

Around 10:15 a.m., Nicole Ashley Albers, 27, of Bel Air, was driving a 2002 Chrysler 300M north on Route 543, according to Maryland State Police with the Bel Air Barrack.

While she was driving her Chrysler near Foxborough Drive and the swim club, her vehicle and a 2010 Lexus driven by Albert Dicocco, 65, of Bel Air, collided head on, according to state police. Police were still investigating the crash Thursday evening and had not released any further details about how the accident happened.

"There were four patients, one of which was a fatality," Rich Gardiner, public information officer for the Harford County Fire and EMS Association, said Thursday morning.

The accident took place directly in front of the swim club, Gardiner said.

Dicocco's passenger, Carolyn Dicocco, 64, of Bel Air, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Albers and her passenger, Alycia Hoffman, 23, of Bel Air, were flown by separate medevac helicopters to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment where they were both in fair condition Thursday evening.

Albert Dicocco was taken by Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. He had been released from the hospital by 5 p.m. Thursday.

The road was closed to traffic for about five hours while investigators from the state police CRASH Team investigated the collision.
