Football playoffs: Fallston bounced by Wicomico, 38-15

After winning their first nine football games in a row, the Fallston Cougars lost their final two. Their second defeat, a 38-15 walloping Friday night by Wicomico, knocked them out of the playoffs and ended their season.

Fallston, the 2A East's third seed, traveled to play second-seeded Wicomico.

Fallston's first touchdown was scored by Bryan Jirsa, who returned a kickoff 96 yards for the score.

Ryan Umpleby caught a two-yard touchdown pass from Cougar quarterback John Hetterman and Sean Lewns posted the Cougars' final tallies by catching a Hetterman pass on a two-point conversion play.

The loss put Fallston at 9-2 on the year.
