Darlington library hosts storytime at 10:30 Saturday mornings

It's storytime! The Darlington library will be offering a storytime (all ages, no registration required) on the third Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m.

The Darlington Apple Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. in Darlington. Lots of activities, selling of wares and food vendors will be there to assist you shop and eat. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day. Come out to enjoy the many varieties of apple fixings, which include apple dumplings, pies, cakes and much more.

The Dublin-Darlington Community Council will be held today (Wednesday), Sept. 18, 7 p.m. at the Visitor Center next to the pool on Conowingo Road. The guest speaker will be Sharon Lipford, deputy director of community services for Harford County. Lipford will give a brief demographic overview followed by a description of the different department divisions.

"This might sound awfully government and boring, but it's not," Lipford said. Community services includes transportation, Office of the Aging, Local Management Board, addiction prevention, disabilities and mediation among others

The Harford County Wine Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 28 from noon to 6 p.m. at Rockfield Manor.

The Harford Artists Association presents Pictures At An Exhibition 2013 Juried Art Show and Sale. The show continues until Sept. 22 with gallery hours, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m to 5 p.m., Thursday, 11 a.m. 7 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. at Rockfield Manor.

A pit beef and yard sale are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Dublin United Methodist Church.
