Daisy Troop 5962 participates in Dublin UM worship service

Daisy Troop 5962 participated at the Dublin United Methodist Church worship service on Girl Scout Sunday. A good job was done by all, parents along with their leaders should be proud.

The March meeting of the Dublin-Darlington Community Council will be held at the Conowingo Visitor Center tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Morita Bruce, president of Friends of Harford. Her topic will be how community input meetings fit into the development process as well as when the public can (and can't) have a meaningful impact.

Yoga classes are held at Grace Church Parish Hall from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The visitor Center is at 4948 Route One/ Conowingo Rd.

A Knitting Group will be held every Thursday at the Wilson Ministry Center from 10 a.m to noon.

The Darlington Book Discussion Group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. In March we'll be reading "Wild: From Lostto Found on the Pacific Crest Trail" by Cheryl Strayed.

Mark your calendars! On April 1 the Wilson Center is having a program called Backyard Chickens at 6:30 p.m. at the Wilson Center, 1014 Main St., in Darlington. Ever thought about raising chickens in your backyard but don't know where to start? Are you already raising chickens and would like to share your experiences with others? Let's talk chicken!

The Church of the Ascension, 3015 Dublin Road in Street will host a Lenten study. Led by the Rev. Nick McDonald, priest-in-charge, the series is in process and you are welcome to attend a session through Palm Sunday, April 13.

Cinderella's Closet sponsored by Aberdeen Lioness Lions Club is hosting a dress give-away featuring brand new and gently used gowns. Each girl will have the opportunity to choose a gown free if they show a current high school student ID. Limited quantities and sizes - first come, first served. Springtime in the Woods will be held at Rockfield Manor through Sunday, April 6. It's not to early to start thinking about summer camp! For many years, the Wilson Center has offered a Summer Fun Camp program for area children in kindergarten through eighth grade The program takes place at the center and runs for nine weeks (start date depends on the last day of school). Activities are provided for the children in a "family type" setting where they can enjoy themselves in a structured but relaxed atmosphere. To prepare for adequate staffing, please contact the center if you are interested in having your children attend the camp program this summer. Early registration incentives will begin in April.
