No drugs or tobacco products were found during a routine, random drug dog scan conducted Feb. 23 at Bel Air Middle School, the Harford County Public School System said.
The scan was conducted as part of the school system's commitment to keeping illicit drugs out of the schools and used a canine under the direction of the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
The 15-minute scan early on the afternoon of Feb. 23 involved 360 lockers being sniffed by the dog under the supervision of four sheriff's deputies, two school administrators and the school system's coordinator of safety and security.
According to a school system news release, the scan "did not result in any alerts for controlled dangerous substances or tobacco violations."
