College Lines: Harford residents earn honors

OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY: Elise Jordan of Churchville and Katie Steelman of Aberdeen were named to the Olivet Nazarene University dean's list for the spring 2012 semester. To qualify for inclusion on the dean's list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.

TREVECCA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY: Corinne Artman, a junior nursing major from Churchville, was named to the Trevecca Nazarene University spring 2012 dean's list. Persons on this list achieved a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester, and it recognizes the hard work and dedication of those students.


HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY: Angela M. DiBeneditto of Forest Hill was among the 810 graduates who earned degrees from Holy Family University in Philadelphia during the University's May 19 commencement ceremonies. DiBeneditto majored in nursing and received a bachelor of science in nursing.

RIDER UNIVERSITY: Danielle Riseley of Churchville, an English major, has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2012 semester in the College of Liberal Arts, Education and Sciences at Rider University.


EMORY UNIVERSITY: Esther Yoo of Havre de Grace received an associate in arts from Oxford College of Emory University; Timothy Davis of Bel Air, received a Doctor of Law from the School of Law of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., at its 167th commencement ceremony on May 14.

SHEPHERD UNIVERSITY: Angela Lynn Torbert, Abingdon; Jeff Daniel Jarnia, Edgewood; Rachel Louise Jones, Fallston; Kathleen Jean Kuss, Havre de Grace; Heidi Wilhelmina White, Joppa; and Heather Nicole Saneman, White Hall, were among the students who received degrees during Shepherd University's 139th Commencement on May 5.

SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY: Kevin Matejka, a resident of Whiteford and a junior at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, is listed on the honor roll with distinction. To be listed on the SMU honor roll with distinction, students must be in the top 10 percent of their school of record. SMU's Spring 2012 enrollment included 10,471 students.

GETTYSBURG COLLEGE: Sarah Kanely, of Joppa, has been named to the Gettysburg College dean's honor list for outstanding academic achievement in spring 2012.

FROSTBURG STATE UNIVERSITY: Emily Clark, of Aberdeen, recently received a master of arts in teaching in secondary from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, during its 140th commencement ceremonies.

ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE: The following students were named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Elizabethtown College: Megan Dodson, a senior from Fawn Grove, Pa.; Alexis Morris, a senior from Whiteford; Sarah Dodson, a senior from Fawn Grove. David Ebsworth, a senior from Fallston. Kathleen Kasun, a senior from Bel Air. Kelly Seymour, a senior from Kingsville; Elizabeth Bahr, a senior from Bel Air; Paul Holback, a sophomore from Fallston; Kendra Hudson, a sophomore from Port Deposit; Lauren Cull, a sophomore from Fallston; Claire Sedney, a senior from Forest Hill; and Maria Spoerl, a junior from Bel Air.

WOFFORD COLLEGE: Lisa Leyla Morris of Abingdon has been named to the spring 2012 dean's list at Wofford College.

RANDOLPH-MACON ACADEMY: Brook Blair, the son of Ed and Linda Wolfe of Stewartstown, was named the Most Valuable Player and received All-Conference Honorable Mention Delaney Athletic Conference for the Randolph-Macon Academy varsity lacrosse team.


MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY: Benjamin E. Ludwig, of Bel Air, has been selected to receive the fall 2012 Chapman Auto Group Athletic Scholarship. Ludwig will graduate from Bel Air High School and will attend Millersville University of Pennsylvania this fall.
