The C. Milton Wright boys volleyball squad battled to a 3-1 match victory over the host-team Bel Air Bobcats Wednesday.
The Mustangs lost the first game 25-21, then rebounded to take the next three by scores of 27-25, 32-30 and 25-15.
"Tonight was, quite simply, an amazing match," CMW head coach Rich Moyers said. "Both sides of the net were highly engaged with back-and-forth momentum swings. Neither side seemed to quit, tire or lose focus. I was quite impressed with what Bel Air put up early in the game. They were very focused at shutting down the middle, often getting a triple block up and running stacked attacks through that lane."
Ryan Walsh led the Mustang attack, putting up 16 kills, two blocks, two assists and six digs, along with two aces and 14 service points. Justin Pezzela led the match with 31 assists, while also posting one block and eight service points. John Hagearty notched 11 kills, four aces and two digs in the victory.

Zack Valenti put up 17 kills and two blocks in the victory, while Thane Hash had 16 kills and four blocks for the Cobras. Nick Waite helped the winning cause with nine kills and three aces, while Brady Vickers notched a match-best 33 assists to go with four blocks.
