The C. Milton Wright boys swim team followed the lead of the Mustang girls, who won a Harford County championship two days earlier, racing to a Harford County championship Thursday evening at Magnolia Middle School, and the combined team title.
The Mustang boys scored 362 points. Havre de Grace was second with 308 points. Fallston was third with 285 points. The rest of the field finished in the following order: Harford Tech, 221; Patterson Mill, 181; Bel Air, 180; Aberdeen, 152; Joppatowne, 135; North Harford, 104; and Edgewood, 102.
With the combined scores of the boys and girls meets, CMW won the Harford County team championship with 759 points. Patterson Mill edged Havre de Grace, 499-498, for second place. The fourth through 10th place finishes in the combined team standings were: Fallston, 464; Bel Air, 392; Harford Tech, 340; North Harford, 339; Aberdeen, 313; Edgewood, 225; and Joppatowne, 217.
At Thursday's meet, the CMW boys won five of the 11 events.
CMW's top individual performer was Darren Slotnick, who won two individual titles - the 200 free and the 100 free.
Kyle Paxton also won an individual championship for CMW, finishing first in the 100 breaststroke.
CMW's team of Ryan Pellegrino, Jordan Wells, Paxton and Slotnick won the 200 medley relay. The meet's final race, the 400 freestyle relay, was won by CMW's Bernie Chang, Ian Kearney, Paxton and Slotnick.
Harford Tech's Brandon Carestia won two individual county championships – the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke.
Fallston's Austin Appel also won two individual county championships - the 50 freestyle and the 100 fly. Fallston's Grant Burgess won the 500 free championship.
Fallston squad of Grant Burgess, Sam Burgess, Jacob Ryan and Appel won the county championship in the 200 free relay.
